An interesting thing is the queen is respected by all, even those larger, and younger than her. She is not challenged by any rebels. Cats that have chosen to move on, have occasionally come back this way for a visit, and approach the queen for permission to enter her turf. She will either respond with a relaxed couple licks to the bushy tailed cautiously approaching expat cat or an instant blur of fur and claws. I observed two behaviors of cats interacting in a seemingly loving way toward each other, that I did not know they were capable of… One is a grandmother cat acting as midwife to her distressed daughter cat as she is giving birth.

Ok here’s the difference but before I continue , I’d like to mention that the word Hinayana is no politically correct to use nowadays . We know this because this word was translated into Tibetan and Chinese too as SMALLER . Sanskrit is a very rich language and one word has many meanings . However , today in most Indic languages it has come to mean lower , lowly , mean , stingy et al . Therefore , misunderstanding this word is easy so many Theravadin Scholars have objected to that word and we must all honour that objection as Buddhists .

The word Sravakayana is found both in Theravada which is a Sravaka Nikaya , like the 22 other Sravaka Nikaya that vanished due to Hindu persecution and the final blow was given by the Islamic invasion, and in the Mahayana texts too .

In the last 10–11 years, only Alonso has come close to winning the championship in the second/third fastest car (with his tremendous drives in Ferrari). However, even that level of skill was not sufficient to win the championship (due to unlucky accidents and poor strategy calls by Ferrari). After that, till this year, Mercedes had been so dominant that no driver could have won the championship in the second best car.

This year, Red Bull is starting to look like the best car with Mercedes being slightly slower. However, it is still mathematically possible that Hamilton can win the championship. It is a tough ask but if Red Bull has some reliability problems, than Hamilton can win the championship in the second best car.

However, if Red Bull can maintain reliability and continue to produce fastest pit-stops, it is most likely that Max will win his first championship. In short, it is very very hard to win the championship in not the best car.

Ah the age old question about cats clawing furniture

Ah the age old question about cats clawing furniture. While it’s not impossible to stop this behavior, it is possible to deflect the tendency using creative ways. As David mentioned below, plastic on the areas that are being used as a scratching post are helpful. There are a couple of small companies that make various sizes of clear plastic adhesive strips just for this. I have a few on my couches as well. I also place cardboard scratching boxes next to my couches. When I see or hear my cats scratching on furniture I say a firm “NO” and move them to their scratching pads. Consistency is key but never hit a cat for any reason. Of course there are certain types of weaves that attract scratching more than others. We have some furniture that they never scratch and others that they love, particularly any fabric with a “knobby” weave. As one last idea, we have to throw blankets that we put on the arms of certain furniture which discourage this behavior as well. I have attached a picture that shows the three I’ve described above that I use on one couch in my house. Good luck!
