How can you be fair to both families on Christmas?

My family has been celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas, every other holiday, every other year.
My family lives in 3 different states, ages range from 4–85. My mother and my aunt don’t drive anymore.
We started this tradition 20+ years ago. When family members are added, by marriage or birth, family traditions, expectations, religious backgrounds, distance to and from, ………….ALL the variables adds to the questions, “Who, where, when, and how?”
The “alternate holiday, alternate year”, works very well. No one relative is more or less important, than another. We agree to “stick to the plan”.
