They were inseparable at the bus stop, after school and whatnot… One issue that was a bit of a concern for the other family was that their kids (Son same age as my son, daughter near my daughter’s age) were latchkey kids. At that time, I had combination (Push button) locks on my house, as I did not want my kids to forget a key and get locked out… The 4 digits were easy for my kids to remember as I used their birthday month and day. (Locks could take 10 combinations)… The neighbor confides in me a concern they had for their latchkey kids as one day they got spooked about something when they were home alone… I invited them over, and as a safe house in the neighborhood (From other events in the past) they were happy to be able to use my house as a second safe space… I even programmed both their birth days into my front door… Long set up.
