If you feel safe handling the cat, clearly your shower/tub can take exposure to the cat. Just clean it afterwards before using it yourself. But I'm not sure why you'd ever want to bathe a stray cat. Cats don't like getting wet from showers or baths. At all. A stray cat that doesn't have reason to trust you will be even more distressed by a forced shower/bath. I am sure you will get lots of scratches if you do this. I wouldn't expect anything less from a terrified cat. In addition, cats can get very chilled from baths. It's going to be hard to dry off a cat that doesn't trust you. Normally cats clean themselves. If the stray doesn't appear to be bathing at all, it's likely she/he has something medical going on. Dealing with the medical condition is likely more important than cleaning the cat's fur.
