If he questions you, just say the cat has been visiting and be very low key and non-confrontational. In the meantime, just be quietly polite. If he starts behaving in an ominous manner, you need to complain to your landlord. I would never tolerate a tenant who was scaring other tenants or engaging in violent behavior. If you feel he could be violent with the cat and will not tolerate it living with you, then I would take it to a rescue place.
