You’ve probably seen funny videos of cats being dramatic and flopping over when they try on a harness for the first time. It is pretty funny, but they just need to get used to it. First, get him used to being around the harness so he no longer sees it as a new thing. Once he’s seen it around for several days, put it on him for 30–60 seconds. Make sure to take video because it’s hilarious. Then take the harness off. Then, over a few weeks, put it on for a little bit longer each time. Just add 30 seconds each time until you get to 5 minutes. Then attach the leash (make it a long leash) and take him outside. Walking cats is not like walking dogs. They stop a lot and lie around a lot, they like to smell everything, they like to munch grass, etc. Just take something to keep you occupied.
